A Wedding Weekend

This weekend we traveled to celebrate the first of two weddings we're attending this month. Matt and I have known Jeff and Cayla since freshman year of college. It was awesome to see them finally tie the knot.
We stayed with friends, who will be celebrating March-wedding-#2 in a couple weeks. Their neighborhood is perfect for running.
I was able to run a quick, hot 2.5 miles and do seven minutes of plank exercises before getting ready for the festivities. I'm glad I got something in, but it wasn't very satisfying.

Here are some photos from the wedding. The venue was a gorgeous park; the ceremony was outside near the water.
Jeff and Cayla during the reading of the vows.
Officially Mr. and Mrs. Wacksman!
Matt and me exploring the grounds before cocktail hour.
The dinner and reception were inside a beautiful tavern, and the "after party" was in an old mansion on the property. There was even a little cottage called Snow White's House, complete with tiny chairs. The entire place was magical.

One of the best things about a wedding like this one is that we know a majority of the guests; it was like a big reunion!
Some of the boys really getting into "Don't Stop Believing."
Isn't she beautiful?!
Their photobooth was perfect! I wish I'd had one at our wedding!
This week, I'll be posting reviews of two new products I've been using...and a fun surprise that I can't wait to finally reveal.

How was your weekend?
Do you cry at weddings?
For my married friends: indoor or outdoor ceremony? Our wedding was in summertime, so we chose indoors for the A/C!

  2. Your friend's wedding dress is gorgeous! I never think I'm going to cry at a wedding, but once the bride and groom start saying their vows I always get weepy.

PS: Your top picture is reminding me that I need to up my headband game! :) I like the thin band I bought a couple weeks ago but it doesn't always stay in place. I think I need to get some of the bigger ones like you're wearing there.

    1. I'm the same; I always think I'll stay dry-eyed but then I tear up!

I like BondiBands (which was REALLY thick like my Ragnar band) and BicBands, which I'm wearing in this photo.

    2. I just have to comment on this - you two are funny!
I definitely cried at my wedding - I could barely get my vows out which made everyone else cry! All the men in my family wore sunglasses to hide their tears ;-)

  6. Agree, you looked great!

Ours was held at the church I work at (beautiful sanctuary), so inside. Plus while it ended up being a gorgeous day, you can never tell with early October in Chicago.

No, I cry at commercials, but not weddings, go figure.

    1. Unpredictable weather definitely calls for indoor weddings. I cry at commercials...there's one chain of grocery here in FL that always puts out really sweet holiday commercials featuring old people baking for new young families, and they get me every time!

  7. I cry at everything :)
We were married inside. I love outdoor weddings but with my luck it would have poured. It was beautiful both inside and the day was beautiful so outdoor pictures were gorgeous!
I can't wait to hear about your little reveal. I wonder what it may be. I do have a guess :)
    PS~YOU ARE GORGEOUS ALI! :)

    1. I looove outdoor weddings but the last thing I wanted was to leave the weather to chance especially in Florida summer!

Thanks girl, you're so sweet :) Look for the reveal Wednesday-ish!
