So...random mind musings it is!
Early this week I got my new, personalized discount code for Skirt Sports! You can use ABK20 for 20% off anything on the site. How cool is that?! They're still dealing with some glitches from updating the site, but they're in the process of updating merchandise and everything. I've got a bunch of stuff in my cart but I'm waiting to checkout until I see what else goes up on the site this week.
Oh you know, just restocking for spring!
Feeling good after 3 easy-ish miles: 11:06, 11:10, 10:57. I should've gone much easier but I was just excited to run.
Wednesday an old childhood friend of mine was in town - he actually had a business meeting in Tampa but flew into our airport so he could see us before he had to go home So we were able to spend a few hours and grab dinner; this was one of those times I was too engaged in hanging out to take pictures of dinner. We talked about what's on our book list, so here's one I'll be reading at his suggestion:
I picked up some really weird snack foods when we went grocery shopping this week! I've been wanting snacks that are higher in protein to add to my usual fruits, so I grabbed some normal stuff: nuts, cheese, Greek yogurt...and sardines. How's that for weird?
One of these things is not like the others...
Our kitchen is almost finished! The to-do list still seems long, but considering how much we've done, it's really just little things. We just need to find hardware for the cabinets, replace the lights and fan, add a small portable island, and do the walls. The walls are the next step, but I'm indecisive about the backsplash.
I've never loved running a dishwasher more. Being without a functioning kitchen for four months will do that to you, I guess!
My new favorite room in the house.
What's your favorite weird snack food?
What are you reading right now?
Do you have any workout gear in desperate need of replacing?
Your kitchen looks beautiful!! When I saw your picture, I thought..I wonder what backsplash Ali will install.ReplyDelete
Thank you! I want something bright or arresting, probably in blue of some kind.Delete
I bet cooking in that new kitchen is going to be exciting. Wth are dill pickle cashews? We definitely don't have that here in Nova Scotia!!!ReplyDelete
They're cashews flavored with dill and other pickle seasonings. They're amazing when you want something salty and tangy. They make jalapeño ones that are fantastic, too.Delete
YOUR KITCHEN!!!! It looks awesome!! I can't imagine how nice it is to finally have a working kitchen.ReplyDelete
Dill pickle cashews... wow those sound good. :)
We eat a lot of cheese. I don't ever feel relaxed unless there are several blocks of cheese in my fridge.
I wish it had been finished when you came to visit! But you can appreciate how far it's come now lol.Delete
The cashews are AMAZING.
Your kitchen is awesome!ReplyDelete
I loved hearing how you woke yourself up laughing. That is so cool.
Currently reading the following (each for a different time of day): "Voyage of the Sable Venus" by Robin Coste Lewis (poetry), "How to Meditate" by Pema Chodron, "GraceLand" by Chris Abani, "Hospitality: The Sacred Art" by Nanette Sawyer, and "Kafka on the Shore" by Haruki Murakami. And working my way through various issues of Harper's, Tricycle, and Poets & Writers magazines.
Apparently I laugh in my sleep fairly often, but I rarely wake up from it. I think it would be creepy to hear, but Matt thinks it's funny!Delete
Your kitchen is beautiful. I love the white + stainless steel combo. It's such bright and uplifting compared to our dark wood + stainless steel combo. I wish we could change it but that's what we get for living the apartment life for now!ReplyDelete
How is the sizing on the sports bras from Skirt Sports? I got my skirt from Amazon and found that the size seemed to run big so I returned it and ended up ordering another the other day from the Skirt Sport site. Can't wait for it to get here!
I actually haven't bouht a bra of theirs yet, but the larger chested ambassadors all SWEAR by the Kelly bra, so I'd try that. I hope you love your skirt! Obviously I'm obssessed.Delete
Your kitchen is gorgeous! Thanks for the Skirt Sports code! I have 1 skirt from them but am interested in trying their shorts. I need longer shorts so was hoping they'd release the Go Longer shorts this year again.ReplyDelete
The Go Longer are back! I love their shorts, too. They fit so nicely and I looooove all the pockets.Delete
Ohhhh I envy your almost finished kitchen SO MUCH! Ours is also being renovated. We just made some big progress. My husband insulated it, hung drywall, did the finishing, and then painted. He just finished tiling and grouting. Now, we are waiting for our cabinets! I can't wait for a dishwasher. We have not had one since we moved into our house. We had one at our old house, but this one did not. Four years later, and my hands have never been the same from washing dishes! LOL. Yours looks amazing!ReplyDelete
We didn't have a sink or water for months, so we used ALL paper products and I was washing coffee mugs in the garage utility sink! It's a relief to have a dishwasher, but even just having a sink put in has made a difference haha!Delete
It sounds like your kitchen is underway...I hope it's finished up nicely soon!
Your kitchen looks great!! I'll have to visit again so I can see it in person. :-)ReplyDelete
I go through weird food moments but not a fan of sardines!! I hate seafood lol. But after Princess I bought three boxes of Girl Scout cookies! They caught me in a weak moment.
Yeah, you can appreciate the change since you saw it when it was literally a hole in the wall haha!Delete
After races...not immediately after, but in the following days...I always crave ice cream or nachos! GS cookies sound delicious though.
