She's Alive!

This is a non-post post because I realized that I wrote a rather downer post earlier in the week and then kind of disappeared.

I've been running and crosstraining this week as planned, but I've been SO busy with work and getting back into my school schedule that I haven't had the time (or energy) to write. (And my runs are so rushed I haven't had time to take any pictures!)

Hopefully next week things will settle down and I'll truly be back!

Here's a picture of me barely hanging onto my sanity less than 24 hours before students came back.

(They've since actually returned and now that I've met them I'm VERY excited for the year...Although I do really miss my kids from last year still.)

And here's what I've been up to running-wise:

How was your week?
If you could send me your usual go-to pick-me-up/energizer, what would I find in my mailbox?

  1. My week was awesome! I was at a soccer camp, so running took a back seat and I feel a little less burnt out now.
A K-cup! I love coffee, and I love the taste, not the caffeine! :)

    1. A little break to do some other form of exercise is a great idea!

I love my coffee an unhealthy amount...I can't even lie about my level of addiction! haha

  2. YAY for 10am on the weekends, I am definitely looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow :)

My go-to pick me up energizer is listening to "Dirrty" by Christina Aguilera, hahaha! Seriously though, it will get you pumped up!

    1. I love sleeping...it's like, my 3rd favorite hobby. If I don't set an alarm on the weekends, I'd sleep until noon!

Oh my gosh, I need to make a playlist of 90s and early 2000s music. Dirrty will go right at the top!

  3. Awesome negative splits!!
I have lots of teacher friends and they were so stressed and frantic and nervous/excited the past 2 weeks with their new students arriving! I don't know how you guys do it! You are superwomen in my book :)
    4:45am-- dedication girl!! Love it!

Go-to energizer is Coffee (warm or cold) The song Patron/Tequila by Paradiso Girls, and 15 mins of shut-eye on the coach! Thats all it takes! Just shutting your eyes helps!!-- but then just make sure you get up haha

    1. I definitely don't feel like superwoman right now, but I'll take the compliment! Thanks :o)

Oh my gosh, I love that song but didn't know the title!! Now I can finally add it to my playlist :o)

  4. Last week was a downer for me, didn't feel like writing. Got two very slow runs in, but it was so humid!
    Congrats on your awesome runs!
My go-to pick me up is so corny....it's the remix theme song from Biggest Loser..... "What have you done today to make you feel proud?" It's a great motivator!

    1. I'll need to look into that song for my running playlist :o)

Two slow runs in humidity, especially when you're feeling unmotivated, is awesome!

  5. I love your hair in the photo!
    You are gorgeous!
Glad to hear you are kicking butt with your runs! Keep it up!!

    My pick-me-up? A bed....I love a good nap :) Don't know that would fit into a mailbox though :)

    1. You're too sweet girl. I'm a huge fan of napping, too! It's a sickness haha. Sometimes the only way I coax myself out of bed for a long run is the promise of a nap later!

  6. Woohoo! Glad things are picking up at work and you're enjoying it. I love your alarm for the weekend. I can't even remember the last time I slept past 7:30. And that's sleeping in!
I agree with the nap comment above :) I've also found that after a really long run, a sports drink like Gatorade helps me a ton to get back to normal.

    1. I love sleeping in so much, if I don't set an alarm I won't get up until noon! I'm like a perpetual teenager.

It definitely seems to be true that some extra sleep - a nap or otherwise - is usually a cure for what ails us!

  7. Yay for a better run! I hope that continues.

I'd send you a nice long nap. Now if I could just get all my children to nap at once, I'd take one.

    1. Naps seem to be the overwhelming consensus! We runners must love our naps haha!

  8. My class comes back on the 19th. Right in the middle of marathon training-which by the way I'm pretty sure is going to kill me.

Your running is going very well.

    1. I have to say, I think teachers who successfully train for long distance races are insanely awesome. If I survive training, I'm going to toot my horn like crazy!
