Happy 4th!

Just a brief note to wish you all a fun and safe holiday!

Today marks the end of the RW Run Streak! I enjoyed a nice short run at the gym, then did some weightlifting to round everything out.
Of course I dressed in my most festive gear!
I love running on holidays, and there were a bunch of races to consider today. But I hadn't planned ahead and choosing to sign up for a race at 11pm the night before just wasn't going to happen. Instead, I did my own thing. Next year I'll plan smarter!

I'm so happy the streak is over! I definitely need a bit of a rest before I begin real training next week. I'm also looking forward to getting some new shoes - lots of my favorite running stores are having sales, so it's a great time to get at it!
Success!
In other fun news, I had business cards made for my blog! I plan to drop them off randomly wherever I think they'll do some good.
I ended up choosing a quote from myself, because that's what the blog is all about!
Now that the streak is over, I get to celebrate and reward myself with my first running tattoo! ...Details on that to come at a later time. Enjoy your festivities, folks!

How are you celebrating your 4th of July?
Did you squeeze a run in before grilling/swimming/drinking/fireworks?

  1. I didn't really do anything special for the 4th. I mostly just hung out in my room reading.
I ran this morning, though! I met up with a group of people who are training for soccer too, and we all ran together as training for the team :)

    1. I figure I'll hand it out at the gym, at races...if I randomly talk to a stranger who happens to run haha. And the tattoo is strictly under wraps until it's actually done, because knowing me, I'll plan it for another month and then totally change my idea.

  4. Congrats on finishing your streak, that's awesome! I ran a 4 easy miles yesterday morning, but wished I were racing.

    1. I kind of regret not signing up for the race, but in the end it worked out okay. There's a race coming up in a couple weekends I think I'll do instead!
